Leavves, High
Leavves are quickly winning me over. First it was a great cover of Lana Del Rey’s Video Games and now this new original track “High.” I’ve been missing The Big Pink a lot and this one totally helps fill that void. If you are smitten too “High” can be downloaded for free over at Bandcamp!
Last year I made this song under the fake band name “Leavves” and posted in on Bandcamp. Then I tagged the song with the genre “Chillwave”. To my surprise some people just somehow found it and passed it onto bloggers! Danceyrselfclean and TMDS are 2 stand outs to me.
I announced on the Leavves twitter and facebook that the project was a social experiment but as I respect some of the bloggers that covered it I just want to make absolutely clear that the experiment was what tagging songs with buzz-genres would lead to and had nothing to do with the quality of the music.
I was just going to let it sit forever but i noticed that the band has over 1000 <3’s on hype machine and 1000+ last.fm listeners and I just thought this was too interesting to keep to myself.
